Wattoor
By the Mount,
Also spelled Surah At Tur.
وَٱلطُّورِ 52:1
Wattoor
By the Mount,
وَكِتَـٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ 52:2
Wakitabin mastoor
And a Scripture inscribed
فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ 52:3
Fee raqqin manshoor
On fine parchment unrolled,
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ 52:4
Walbayti almaAAmoor
And the House frequented,
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ 52:5
Wassaqfi almarfooAA
And the roof exalted,
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ 52:6
Walbahri almasjoor
And the sea kept filled,
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ 52:7
Inna AAathaba rabbika lawaqiAA
Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass;
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ 52:8
Ma lahu min dafiAA
There is none that can ward it off.
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا 52:9
Yawma tamooru assamao mawra
On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving,
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا 52:10
Wataseeru aljibalu sayra
And the mountains move away with (awful) movement,
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ 52:11
Fawaylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
Then woe that day unto the deniers
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ 52:12
Allatheena hum fee khawdinyalAAaboon
Who play in talk of grave matters;
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا 52:13
Yawma yudaAAAAoona ila narijahannama daAAAAa
The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell
هَـٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ 52:14
Hathihi annaru allateekuntum biha tukaththiboon
(And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny.
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ 52:15
Afasihrun hatha am antum latubsiroon
Is this magic, or do ye not see?
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ 52:16
Islawha fasbirooaw la tasbiroo sawaon AAalaykum innamatujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloon
Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ 52:17
Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwanaAAeem
Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight,
فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ 52:18
Fakiheena bima atahumrabbuhum wawaqahum rabbuhum AAathaba aljaheem
Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire.
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ 52:19
Kuloo washraboo hanee-an bimakuntum taAAmaloon
(And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do,
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ 52:20
Muttaki-eena AAala sururin masfoofatinwazawwajnahum bihoorin AAeen
Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes.
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَـٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ 52:21
Wallatheena amanoo wattabaAAat-humthurriyyatuhum bi-eemanin alhaqnabihim thurriyyatahum wama alatnahum minAAamalihim min shay-in kullu imri-in bima kasaba raheen
And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned.
وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم بِفَـٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ 52:22
Waamdadnahum bifakihatin walahminmimma yashtahoon
And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire.
يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ 52:23
YatanazaAAoona feeha ka/san lalaghwun feeha wala ta/theem
There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin.
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ 52:24
Wayatoofu AAalayhim ghilmanunlahum kaannahum lu/luon maknoon
And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls.
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ 52:25
Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdinyatasaaloon
And some of them draw near unto others, questioning,
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ 52:26
Qaloo inna kunna qablufee ahlina mushfiqeen
Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious;
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ 52:27
Famanna Allahu AAalayna wawaqanaAAathaba assamoom
But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire.
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ 52:28
Inna kunna min qablu nadAAoohuinnahu huwa albarru arraheem
Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful.
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ 52:29
Fathakkir fama anta biniAAmatirabbika bikahin wala majnoon
Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman.
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ 52:30
Am yaqooloona shaAAirun natarabbasubihi rayba almanoon
Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time?
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ 52:31
Qul tarabbasoo fa-innee maAAakum minaalmutarabbiseen
Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant.
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ 52:32
Am ta/muruhum ahlamuhum bihathaam hum qawmun taghoon
Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk?
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ 52:33
Am yaqooloona taqawwalahu bal layu/minoon
Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but they will not believe!
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ 52:34
Falya/too bihadeethin mithlihi in kanoosadiqeena
Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful.
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ 52:35
Am khuliqoo min ghayri shay-in am humu alkhaliqoon
Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators?
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ 52:36
Am khalaqoo assamawatiwal-arda bal la yooqinoon
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing!
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ 52:37
Am AAindahum khaza-inu rabbika amhumu almusaytiroon
Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)?
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ 52:38
Am lahum sullamun yastamiAAoona feehifalya/ti mustamiAAuhum bisultanin mubeen
Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest!
أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ 52:39
Am lahu albanatu walakumu albanoon
Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons?
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ 52:40
Am tas-aluhum ajran fahum min maghraminmuthqaloon
Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt?
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ 52:41
Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboon
Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down?
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ 52:42
Am yureedoona kaydan fallatheenakafaroo humu almakeedoon
Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared!
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ 52:43
Am lahum ilahun ghayru Allahisubhana Allahi AAamma yushrikoon
Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ 52:44
Wa-in yaraw kisfan mina assama-isaqitan yaqooloo sahabun markoom
And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds.
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ 52:45
Fatharhum hatta yulaqooyawmahumu allathee feehi yusAAaqoon
Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken,
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ 52:46
Yawma la yughnee AAanhum kayduhumshay-an wala hum yunsaroon
A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped.
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ 52:47
Wa-inna lillatheena thalamooAAathaban doona thalika walakinna aktharahumla yaAAlamoon
And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not.
وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ 52:48
Wasbir lihukmi rabbikafa-innaka bi-aAAyunina wasabbih bihamdirabbika heena taqoom
So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest,
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَـٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ 52:49
Wamina allayli fasabbihhu wa-idbaraannujoom
And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars.
